Margarita, of Margarita’s SJO airport B & B, epitomizes what customer service is all about.
She is in the ideal location close to SJO Intl Airport, with absolutely gorgeous grounds and accommodations.
I arrived SJO on March 19th unable to get a room at Margarita’s B & B until the night before my departure on March 24, 2011.
Small wonder, considering such impeccable service and rooms.

When I dropped in unannounced on March 20th to deliver my dirty laundry for my return to the US trip Margarita took care of everything.
1) Laundry for departure day – done.
2) GPS that the car rental company did not bring – done.
3) Cooler the car rental did not bring – done and at no charge.
4) Ride to local restaurant for dinner – done.
5) Found a ready to go breakfast on the outdoor table of my room because I was leaving too early for breakfast (i.e. 5:00am)
6) Before even coming to Costa Rica, Margarita and her husband’s website pretty much clued me in to just about everything I needed to know and do beforehand.

Kudu’s to you, Margarita. Next trip I will have to be sure to book earlier.

Margarita's B&B is spectacular.   I stayed there for five days and enjoyed every minute.
The decor is lovely.   The rooms are so large you won't believe your eyes and they are sparkling clean.
The owners are helpful and are constantly improving a place that needs no improvement!
The staff is friendly and the service is great.   It's the perfect location from which to tour
Volcano Poas and La Paz Waterfall Gardens.   I give it the absolutely best rating.

What a friendly and welcoming couple! My husband arrived late and were exhausted.
Greeted with warm smiles and friendly animals. It made us feel right at home.
We only stayed one night at that point but were returning at the end of our trip for two nights.
Margarita is so sweet and her family is wonderful.

The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable.
You can see all the hard work they have put into the grounds to keep it looking tidy and tropical!!
The views were breathtaking, a true gem!

My name is Tracy and I am sad to say I have come across your wonderful web site too late as the date I needed is all filled up on your calendar.   My family and I arrive at the San Jose airport on Jan 28th, 2011
My husband and I are traveling with my 76 year old Mom and 77 year old Dad.   Two wonderful people.
We are looking to stay in a nice place for the night so my Mom and Dad can have a rest after the long flight day before we make our way to Jaco.

I don't know your area at all but after looking at your web site and reading your reviews I would have felt very comfortable and happy to have booked with you.   Since we can't I am wondering if you could recommend somewhere we could go for the night that would be similar in cost and hopefully as close as possible to how nice your B&B is.
I hope you don't mind.   I would have loved to book with you.   This will probably be the last trip I get to take with my parents and I want it to be as wonderful as possible from the start to the finish.

Your B&B in Alejuela is a real gem! The main reason why we don't want to advertise it is because it will become very popular and the next time we go to Costa Rica & want to book a room there it will be full!
However, that is very selfish of us. We had such a great experience there and want others to be able to benefit as well, so here goes...

Everything was truly excellent: the location close to the airport & great restaurants, the very clean & tastefully decorated rooms, the beautiful gardens and quiet & safe surroundings, the pleasant service and staff, the full breakfast, the relaxing, family-style atmosphere, the welcoming and helpful hosts, Maguarita and Ad!!
We love nature and animals so especially appreciated the birds and all the pets.
We stayed at your place 2 nights only, but feel like we know you as family!!!

Wow.. what a beautiful property. From the perfectly trimmed and cared for garden to the spotless cozy rooms, this bed and breakfast was a true highlight of our vacation.
Margarita was so sensitive to all our needs, and went to extremes to ensure we were happy guests. Not only did her family wake up prior to our flight at 5:00am to wave us good bye, they provided us with breakfast bags too. They even allowed us to entertain family and friends in their breakfast patio.
We would, without question, recommend this B&B to future Costa Rican explorers!
We hope to see Costa Rica again some day soon, and when we do, we will be sure to stay for a visit.

The location of this B&B is ideal for arrival and departure into San Jose.
The owners are really friendly and helpful and we caught them speaking fluent Dutch, English and Spanish.
We rented a car and received GPS directly through them, half of the price the car rental company offers them for.
Pool area is relaxed and clean. Our first nights were in the vacation home, perfect for two couples or a family.
When we came back, we stayed in the red room. Even more spacious than the house and we really enjoyed the colored rooms.
Breakfast was plenty and Margarita even prepared a travel breakfast for us upon departure and a nice coffee at 4 am.
We highly recommend this place and can easily see ourselves coming back on our next visit to Costa Rica.

Not only is La Margarita a lovely place to stay, but your assistance with local mobile phones, use of the internet, taxis, route planning and satellite navigation was absolutely invaluable.
When our UK mobiles had no connectivity you provided us with a local mobile that did work and we were so glad that we took your recommendation and rented a satnav/GPS from you - it probably saved our holiday and marriage on a number of occasions when the absence of road signs left us floundering.
If we come to CR again we will start and finish at La Margarita and ask you to make all the arrangements - including car rental.

The place where we are staying, Margarita's Airport B&B San Jose, is perfect ---
close to the airport, with plenty of dogs and cats for Audrey to pet, a pool of cool, cool water that we all enjoyed,
and a trampoline. There are lots of butterflies and flowers and tropical trees, and our room is delightful.
The view from the pool area is beautiful, with Volcan Poas across the valley, although partly hidden in clouds today.

Jay and Audrey are playing cards outside on the table on our terrace. Claire and Emma have been playing solitaire and
writing in their journals, and we're all starved and waiting for dinner which is being fixed by our hosts tonight.

Tomorrow is another early morning...we're catching a taxi at 6:15 am to the domestic airport in San Jose for our flight
down to Puerto Jimenez and our week at Casa Bambu. I don't think we'll have internet again for at least a week, but we'll
post again when we can.
